Principles of Ageing Medicine for the rapidly changing society of the 21st century

On Tuesday 4 April 2023 from 9:15-10:45 CEST / 8:15-9:45 BST, Prof Polidori will open her lecture "Principles of Ageing Medicine for the rapidly changing society of the 21st century" for the second time to participants from the EUniWell Alliance.

About the lecturer:

Ageing represents one of the most unique changes in the life of human beings. While many societies across the globe are dealing with the consequences of an increasing ageing population, ageing research becomes more and more relevant both for social and individual well-being as well as for quality of life.

Our rapidly changing society requires us to tackle the phenomenon of ageing in a comprehensive manner, particularly looking at the interconnection between biology, psychology and socio-environmental factors.

This lecture will address challenges and opportunities of the biopsychosocial model of disease. It will discuss the relevance of personalised medicine in the 21st century and suggest ways to bridge the gap between ageing research and ageing medicine of the future.
