Children and young adults love comics, and so do adults. Readers of all ages are attracted by the interplay between text and images in comics and graphic novels. With a full-day workshop, we want to highlight the didactic potential of comics and graphic novels by interspersing theoretical perspectives with examples from and for the teaching.
The morning session will be in English to open up for participants on-site or online. In the afternoon session, a talk with the comics artist and illustrator Elisa Rossholm will take place as well as a hands-on workshop in Swedish with the artist for participants on-site. We learn more about creating comics by doing it ourselves.
The workshop will be organized in collaboration with
Det kulturella universitetet (The cultural university)
Språklärarnätverket för ämneslärare (Network for language teacher)
Linnaeus University Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies (IMS)
Department of Languages
Department of Film and Literature
Center for Studies in Popular Culture (PoCus).
The organizers Corina Löwe, Beate Schirrmacher, Nafiseh Mossuavi and Nina Ernst from the research group IMS: Literacy thank for the support.
