First Lucia Workshop on Fractional Calculus and Processes

Join us for the First Lucia Workshop on Fractional Calculus and Processes, held from December 9-13, 2024, at Linnaeus University in Växjö. Organized by Christian Engström and Wolfgang Bock (Linnaeus University) along with Yuliya Mishura (Kyiv National University, Ukraine & Mälerdalen University), this event will unite top specialists in fractality and fractionality.

The workshop aims to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas among leading experts, with discussions spanning a wide array of topics in fractional calculus and its applications, culminating in a special issue of Modern Stochastics Theory and Applications (MSTA).

Why Lucia? The Lucia celebration of December 13 is one of Sweden’s most cherished traditions, where processions of white-clad Lucias and their followers bear candles and sing songs to bring light to the Scandinavian winter. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience this festive occasion, complete with saffron buns and mulled wine (glögg).

The schedule for the workshop and the book of abstracts are now online. We look forward to welcoming you to Växjö for this exciting and enriching event, where we will explore the frontiers of fractional calculus and processes, all while enjoying the warmth and light of the Lucia celebration.
