Research Seminar with Professor Tor Hernes, Copenhagen Business School – a seminar on Organizing in the Folding of Time

Research seminar with professor Tor Hernes, from the Centre for Organization and Time (COT) at Copenhagen Business School.

In this seminar, Professor Tor Hernes will discuss Organizing in the Folding of Time, drawing on his extensive research and recent publications. The seminar will explore how organizations navigate and make sense of time in a non-linear manner, challenging traditional views of time as a mere backdrop for organizational activities. Tors' work emphasizes the role of temporality in shaping organizational life, suggesting that time is not just a passive element but an active force that influences organizational decisions, identity, and change. His recent publications, including “Organization and Time” (Hernes., 2021) and his articles in leading journals (Hernes & Feuls., 2024), provide a deep understanding of how time can be conceptualized and engaged with in organizational contexts.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with these innovative ideas and consider how they might apply to their own research or professional practice. This seminar is particularly relevant for us in leadership and organizing but also for colleagues and scholars interested in organization theory, innovation and change management, and the sociology of time.

This seminar will be held in English.

This seminar is organized by LO. No pre-registration required.
