During this afternoon you will receive information about what it means to be a PhD student i Sweden, what is expected of you and how to apply for PhD positions. All interested students are welcome; you don't need to be in the final stages of your studies; a curiosity about doctoral positions is enough!
The meeting will be offered on site in Kalmar (limited number of seats). The same event will take place in Växjö on the same date.

14:30 Welcome and introduction Sofie Edström, Career counsellor of Linnaeus University
14:35 pm: What is expected of a PhD student? Presentation and Q&A with Hanna Farnelid, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology and Environmental Science. In her research Hanna studies phytoplankton and bacteria with a focus on microbial diversity, distribution and functionality.
15:00 pm What is like to work and study as a PhD? Presentation and Q&A with Irene Achieng Ochieng, PhD at the School of Business and Economics, focusing on International Business.
15:30 pm Information about the doctoral employment model. Information from Linnaeus University HR department.
