Assessment and Examination - Are the course objectives being examined?
FTK, together with the Section of Higher Education, arrange a workshop on the theme Assessment and Examination - Are the course objectives being examined?
The workshop is for staff at the Faculty of Technology (FTK) and is held on two occasions: the morning of Thursday 5 December and the morning of Tuesday 14 January.
Place and language are adapted according to how it is distributed during registration. Information about this will come later. However, the workshop takes place on site.
Assessment and Examination - Are the course objectives being examined?
Here, we delve into the basis on which examinations and assessments are to take place and how we ensure that it is the goals of the syllabus that are examined on the course. Below are suggestions for questions that can be discussed, but it is of course open to your thoughts and further questions
Basis of assessment:
- How do we ensure that the course objectives are met in a system where students receive points for different elements of the course?
Communication with students:
- How can we effectively communicate assessment grounds and expectations to the students?
Transparency in assessment grounds:
- How can we ensure that the basis for assessment is clearly communicated to the students at the start of the course?
Qualitative aspects:
- How can we focus on qualitative rather than quantitative aspects in the assessment?
Authentic knowledge:
- How can we verify that the students have really understood and can apply the knowledge they have learned?
These workshops offer an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas with colleagues and to develop our assessment and examination methods. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to improve the quality of our courses and student learning.
