Research Seminar with Associate Professor Sanne Bor, LUT University – a seminar on Meta-organizations and meta-organization theory

In this seminar Associate Professor Sanne Bor will draw insights from her recent work to discuss meta-organizations and the development of meta-organization theory and how their insights are important for organization and management scholars. The seminar will highlight why it is important to study meta-organizations and their impact on members, non-members and society. She will highlight some of the ways in which meta-organizations differ from other organizations and how this enriches our understanding of organizations and the organizing taking place around us.
In the seminar, key insights from the upcoming edited book “A World of Metaorganizations”, work related to the potence of meta-organizations in sustainability transitions (Bor and O’Shea, 2022; Berkowitz and Bor, 2024), and work around the internal structuring of meta-organizations and their consequences (e.g., Bor and Cropper, 2023) are explored.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with these innovative ideas and discuss the potence of utilizing these ideas in their research.

This seminar will be held in English. This seminar is organized by LO. No pre-registration required.
