Research Seminar with Dr. Steffi Siegert, Linnaeus University

Join us for an engaging seminar with Steffi Siegert, who will present her ongoing research project.

Steffi Siegert will present her ongoing research project “Organizing REKO: The Durability of a Local Food System in Finland, Sweden & Latvia”. She will briefly present the overall project and then more specifically her focus area concerning the use of Facebook as a marketplace for REKO.

Facebook is used by REKO as a marketplace outside of the formal marketplace function. Their use and how producers, consumers and admins talk about Facebook has inspired the idea to connect REKO’s use of Facebook to research on platform economics. This somewhat alternative use of Facebook shapes how REKO exists in a capitalist market.

Participants are invited to participate in an informal exploration of presented ideas and thoughts.

This seminar will be held in English.

This seminar is organized by LO. No pre-registration required.
