Interdisciplinary Workshop on Planetary Health
The Knowledge Environment Sustainable Health at Linnaeus University warmly invites researchers from all disciplines, both within Linnaeus University and from other universities, to participate in a full day workshop dedicated to exploring and shaping new collaborative pathways in planetary health.
This workshop represents the third step of an interdisciplinary dialogue initiated in December 2025 and continued in April 2026, that brought together researchers from different disciplines and universities.
About the workshop
Planetary health is a transdisciplinary field dedicated to understanding and addressing how human-driven disruptions to Earth’s natural systems affect human health, the health of other species, and the overall functioning of the planet’s life support systems. It requires approaches that bring together expertise from the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, design, technology, medicine, and beyond.
Purpose
The main aim of the workshop is to share ideas and effectively sketch inter and transdisciplinary project concepts related to planetary health. Participants will work in small, mixed disciplinary groups to surface synergies and develop early-stage research ideas for joint project proposals.
Who can participate?
The workshop is open to:
- Researchers from all faculties at Linnaeus University
- Researchers from other Swedish and international universities
- Scholars interested in environmental change, sustainability, global health, public health, ecology, social sciences, humanities, technology, design, and related fields
Additional information

- Lunch and coffee will be provided.
