Today the official opening of Universitetskajen in Kalmar will take place.
Due to Covid-19, most activities are currently planned digitally. We want to invite you, wherever you may be in the world, to take part and join us digitally when we finally celebrate our new University area.
Finally we are all at the same place! We have longed for a unified university area where both planned and spontaneous meetings are part of everyday life.A city-integrated university contributes to a vibrant city center!A city-integrated university also contributes to a vital university environment for a strong and sustainable societal development. People from different backgrounds, with different experiences and conditions are welcome and very valuable for Linnaeus University’s activities.When the pandemic allows, we hope that Universitetskajen will be exactly the exuberant environment that is intended.

10.00 - 11.00 Invited guests offer both flashbacks and future explorations. We also have a flying reporter on visits around our new nice premises.

12.40 Linnaeus University Big Band entertains before the ceremony starts
13.00 - 14.00 Grand Opening Ceremony. Inauguration speeches by Peter Aronsson, vice-chancellor; Johan Persson, chair of the Municipal Board; and Anton Jakobsson, chair of Linnaeus Union, as well as entertainment by soprano Pernilla Ingvarsdotter, Dimpker Brothers, and Linnaeus University Big Band.
