Changes to the library databases as from 2017

Academic Search Premier (EBSCO): The subscription ends.

Journal Citation Reports (JCR): The subscription ends and the database is replaced by Journal and Highly Cited Data (JHCD) from the same provider.

ORBIS: The subscription ends and the database is partially replaced by Eikon from Thomson Reuters; this is also a database that primarily holds financial information. Eikon is installed locally on 3 computers at the University Library in Växjö.

WordFinder: The subscription ends and is replaced by Nationalencyklopedin’s (NE) dictionaries. The reason for this is that the most frequently used dictionaries from Norstedts will be included in the NE subscription as from 2017. Apart from 7 Norstedts dictionaries, it also includes NE’s Swedish dictionaries, Lexin dictionaries and NE’s Arabic dictionary.

The NE dictionaries may be accessed through your regular web browser:öcker. You may also use an app that contains NE’s English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic dictionaries. The app is available for Android and iPhone and may be downloaded from Google Play or App Store. When it has been successfully installed, the app also functions offline. Note that in order to use the app and the offline function, you will have to log in with a personal account. You may create an account by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of the NE website.
