Linnaeus University strengthens prominent research by recruiting 21 postdoctoral fellows

Linnaeus University is a modern, international university with Småland as its base and the world as its stage. We combine curiosity, creativity and utility with an entrepreneurial thinking in education and research. Seeing possibilities and believing in the future is part of what we do every day.

Linnaeus University strives for excellence in generating research funding and internationally renowned scientific publications every year. These impressive efforts have led to an annual grant increase of SEK 28 million from the Ministry of Education and Research.

We can now meet our earlier ambition to invest in improved conditions for developing our research. By recruiting key competencies we hope to develop the research and education within a number of fields.

In order to be able to promptly make use of these funds, the extra funds will mainly be used to recruit new postdoctoral fellows and guest professors. The aim is to attract promising researchers, preferably international ones, to Linnaeus University. Successful scholars will conduct their research in a supportive academic community built on interdisciplinary approaches and innovation, and will join their new research teams in state-of-the-art facilities. The ultimate goal is to transform these positions into permanent appointments, which would reinforce the long-term development of education and research at the university.

Each of the six Linnaeus University faculties are now tasked to invest their funding strategically, with the ultimate ambition to offer unique opportunities to qualified candidates who will strengthen the interdisciplinary perspective and its connection to research in vocational education.
