Research seminar about learnings from an online experimental study

Natallia Pashkevich presented results and insights from an experimental study that investigated the productivity of software programmers.

On Thursday 20 October 2016 a research seminar was given by Doctoral Student Natallia Pashkevich, Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University. The seminar was part of a series arranged by Gunilla Bradley Centre for Digital Business.

The study was conducted online and attracted professional programmers from all parts of the world. While the hypotheses tested were not confirmed, which would suggest that the experiment failed, Natallia showed how much new knowledge this study provided, both about the productivity of software programmers and about the design of experimental online studies. For example, the study showed that software programmers' productivity gains require time lags and learning effects.
