A minute’s silence

The Government is declaring a national minute’s silence to honor the victims of the horrific attack in Stockholm on Friday afternoon. The minute’s silence will be held at 12 noon today, Monday April 10, in connection with a national memorial ceremony.

Linnaeus University will also hold a minute’s silence, as each department considers appropriate. Examples of possible assembly sites for the minute’s silence, for those who wish to have a common place, are either the flags by the main building in Växjö or outside the University Library at Nygatan 18B in Kalmar.

As from 8 am today, Linnaeus University will fly the flags at half-mast. After the national minute’s silence, which will take place between 12 noon and 12.01, the flags will be hoisted again.

Our thoughts go to the victims of the attack and their families and loved ones.

Acting Rector
