New Guest Researcher, Ivan Sablin

Sablin is a Senior Research Fellow at HSE Campus in St. Petersburg / St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences and Humanities / Centre for Historical Research. Sablin will be here for 2 months, from April 15-June 15. He has experience in teaching global history (focusing on Modern and Contemporary periods and Eurasia), international relations, and digital humanities at three universities in Germany (University of Heidelberg) and Russia (Higher School of Economics and Saint Petersburg State University) at BA and MA levels in English, Russian, and German. In his research, he focuses on the twentieth century Russian history and on Pacific Russia since the nineteenth century. His first book, Governing Post-Imperial Siberia and Mongolia (Routledge 2016), is devoted to the revolutionary reconfigurations in northern Eurasia and the input of indigenous intellectuals into the transnational project of socialist decolonization of Asia. He also authored several research articles in Russian and Asian studies.
