EEMiS and EcoChange won an underwater drone in National Geographic’s S.E.E Initiative competition
At Linnaeus University the National Geographic Live Expedition Saving the Baltic Sea has been selected to win an OpenROV Trident underwater drone. The project was selected for its efforts in the fields of sustainability and citizen science in the Baltic Sea.
The Science Exploration Education Initiative is a pioneering effort to explore the ocean. National Geographic in collaboration with OpenROV has given away one thousand OpenROV Tridents to deserving citizen scientists, educators, nonprofits, researchers and students to monitor and protect marine environments.
Here at Linnaeus University the underwater drone will be used in a number of projects by our research groups in an effort to explore the Baltic Sea and discover new paths towards its recovery. Follow the Live Expedition and watch this journey unfold!
