Kostiantyn Kucher, Carita Paradis and Andreas Kerren attracts attention at EuroVis, the European conference for data visuilization.
The EuroVis conference, held annually since 1999, is the premier European gathering of researchers in information visualization, visual analytics and related fields. Information visualization is key in gaining an understanding of large, complex data sets by exploiting the human visual system. EuroVis 2018 was held in Brno, Czech Republic, during June 4–8, 2018.
The best poster award this year was granted to the poster entitled "Visual Analysis of Sentiment and Stance in Social Media Texts" by Kostiantyn Kucher, Carita Paradis and Andreas Kerren. Kostiantyn and Andreas represent the ISOVIS group at the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Linnaeus University. Their research in general is concerned with efficient ways of conducting exploratory visual analysis of data to empower humans. In the ongoing work described in the poster, they focus on visual analysis of opinions automatically detected in massive textual data from Twitter and Reddit.
More details about the poster are available in the DIVA research database.
