Ingvar Kamprad, our honorary doctor and the founder of IKEA, has passed away
Ingvar Kamprad has passed away. In 2006, he was appointed honorary doctor at the then Växjö University, which is now Linnaeus University.
”Ingvar has always been fond of the university, its students and its members of staff. As an entrepreneur, he has been a source of inspiration to many and through a unique collaboration between IKEA and Linnaeus University he has made more research possible which contributes to a better everyday life for the many people”, says Peter Aronsson, vice-chancellor at Linnaeus University.
Our thoughts and condolences go to Ingvar Kamprad’s family and his near and loved ones.
