SEK nine million from Crafoordska stiftelsen to Linnaeus University

The main goal of Crafoordska stiftelsen is to promote scientific research. In this year’s allocation to scientific research, 14 researchers at Linnaeus University have been granted a total of SEK 9.3 million.

The following researchers have been granted funds:

Ian Nicholls, Department of Chemistry and Biomedicine, has been granted SEK 4 million for “A LC/GC-IRMS instrument facility – for stable isotope measurements in environmental science and technology”.

Gunnel Cederlöf, Department of Cultural Sciences, has been granted SEK 950,000 for the project “Infrastruktur och miljökonsekvenser i det koloniala Indien”.

Kristina Gustafsson, Department of Social Work, has been granted SEK 950,000 for the project “Asylum interviews in South Africa and Sweden”.

Johan Höglund, Department of Languages, has been granted SEK 950,000 for the project “Materialising Violence: Speculative Fiction and New Cultures of Resistance from sub-Saharan Africa”.

Karin Holmfeldt, Department of Biology and Environmental Science, has been granted SEK 450,000 for the project “Exploring the impact of lysogeny among single-stranded DNA (ssDNA)”.

Karl Loxbo, Department of Political Science, has been granted SEK 400,000 for “A democracy in crisis?”

Reza Hosseinpourpia, Department of Forestry and Wood Technology, has been granted SEK 300,000.

Petter Tiblin, Department of Biology and Environmental Science, has been granted SEK 250,000 for the project “Catch and release induced stress – an invisible stress to ecosystems”.

Leteng Lin, Department of Built Environment and Energy Technology, has been granted SEK 200,000 for the project “New design of centrifugal scrubber condensor for particle emission”.

Camilla Mohlin, Department of Chemistry and Biomedicine, has been granted SEK 200,000 for “Komplementsystemets betydelse for retinal neurodegeneration”.

Per Nilsson, Department of Chemistry and Biomedicine, has been granted SEK 200,000 for the project “Vävnadsrespons mot främmande material – kan thrombin driva inflammation vid implantation av vaskulära implantat?”

Kathiravan Suppan, Department of Chemistry and Biomedicine, has been granted SEK 200,000 for “New Methods and Concepts for Catalysed Organic Synthesis”.

Rikard Unelius, Department of Chemistry and Biomedicine, has been granted SEK 200,000 for the project “Allene chemistry as a tool for the synthesis of the cyclbutane pheromones grandisol and fragranol”.

Jørgen Bruhn, Department of Film and Literature, has been granted SEK 100,000 to arrange a research symposium.
