Therése Iveby Gardell new university director at Linnaeus University
Therése Iveby Gardell will be the new university director at Linnaeus University. She takes office on 19 August. Most recently, she has worked as acting head of division at the division of common service and administration at Uppsala University.
“I’m very pleased that we have been able to recruit a university director who is an experienced manager and leader of development of academic activities. Her experience from another prominent higher education institution with complex activities and work with several campuses will enrich our development”, says vice-chancellor Peter Aronsson.
From 2013 to 2015, Therése Iveby Gradell was head of administration for Uppsala Unversity – Campus Gotland and from 2008 to 2013 she was head of administration at Gotland University College. She has a degree of bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and quality from KTH.
“The position as university director at Linnaeus University seems very interesting and, in a positive way, challenging. My impression is that Linnaeus University is a very good university and I have experience of working at a university that is located in two different cities – I think that suits me”, says Therése Iveby Gardell.
“I believe that I can contribute to establishing a culture that prioritises collaboration, consensus, and dialogue on strategically important questions between education, research, and collaboration”, Iveby Gardell concludes.
Until Therése Iveby Gardell takes office on 19 August, Thorbjörn Nilsson will stay on as acting university director at Linnaeus University.
