Cancelled introduction week in Växjö
After last weekend’s introduction activities in Växjö, we have unfortunately received information about confirmed covid infection. We follow Linnaeus University’s and the authorities’ established measures to minimise continued spread of infection. Therefore, Linnaeus Union, in consultation with the university, has decided to cancel all remaining activities during the introduction week in Växjö this semester. However, the activities in Kalmar will continue.
What is important now is that everyone who shows the slightest symptoms contact their nearest health clinic for testing. Call 0470-58 67 70 to book an appointment to collect a test kit. Testing is free of charge for everyone.
“It feels really sad, of course, to have to take these measures, but we must take responsibility for the current situation. The union and the university have held a close dialogue on how to handle the situation and we agree that it is necessary in order to reduce the risk of continued spread of infection – no matter how sad it is”, says Anton Jakobsson, chair of Linnaeus Union.
“The important thing now is that you all continue to take care of yourselves. Do not arrange your own parties as this could contribute to the spread of infection. Take care of yourself and others!
