This is how some students describe being a buddy. The Buddy program is a collaboration between Linnaeus Union, Linnaeus University, and the ESN sections in Kalmar and Växjö. As an international student, getting a buddy makes moving to a foreign country so much easier. Current students may support a newbie and help to improve integration in Sweden. As a buddy you may help one or several students to feel welcome. Meet up for a coffee, visit the grocery store, show the study environment and what the town has to offer. As a buddy you should expect to answer common questions and make the newbie feel more at home.
