Linnaeus University’s vice-chancellor elected to international board
Vice-chancellor Peter Aronsson was recently elected as board member of International Association of Universities for the period 2022–2026.
“Global commitment for and from academia is more important today than ever before, to open up for a sustainable future. Linnaeus University and the Swedish Association of Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) have an ambition of global mobilisation, where Open Science is a key resource. This means a further strengthening of our prioritisations to set knowledge in motion for a sustainable societal development”, says Vice-chancellor Peter Aronsson.
The new board was elected at the International Association of Universities’ 16th general conference in Dublin – a gathering on the theme Relevance and Value of Universities to Future Society.
International Association of Universities in brief
International Association of Universities (IAU) was founded in 1950, under supervision of UNESCO, and it is the leading, global association of higher education institutions and organisations from all over the world. IAU has members from more than 130 countries and its focus is to reflect and act upon shared prioritisations. IAU is an independent non-governmental organsiation.
The Swedish Association of Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) is a member of International Association of Universities.
