Asal’s passion for architecture rewarded with scholarship

Asal has just completed her first year in the Building Technology Programme and recently received the Swedish Association for Building Preservation’s scholarship. Through the scholarship, she will be granted a one-year membership in the society and a spot at their building preservation camp in Västergötland at the end of August.

“I was obviously thrilled to be chosen as this year's scholarship recipient. It means a lot to me as it gives me the chance to have new experiences that I can use”, says Asal.

Architecture holds a special place in her heart; according to her, it is so much more than building square walls with windows. She believes that architecture is the art of creating an environment that harmonises with people's needs and well-being, while also considering nature.

“Moreover, architecture is a language that conveys people's culture, religion, and lifestyle”, Asal continues.

Asal dreams of continuing her studies after her bachelor’s degree and wants to work as an architect in the future. When she chose the Building Technology Programme, she based her decision on her passion for architecture. What she would like to say to someone considering applying to the programme is that it is a good fit for anyone interested in technology and architecture, while also looking for a programme that offers a broad and rewarding learning experience.

At the building preservation camp in August, Asal will get to try out bricklaying, window renovation, roof restoration, and more.
