Higher education institutions hit by new cyber attack

Sunet has now, once again, shut down access from abroad to all university websites in Sweden due to a new cyber attack.

Linnaeus University is currently not among the universities hit by the latest cyber attack, but access from abroad to our site has been shut down anyway, as a precautionary measure.

For those who are outside Sweden, we refer to the temporary web.

The restrictions on accessing Lnu.se from abroad have been lifted, no limiting restrictions are left in place.

IT has conducted repeated checks of systems and data. No data has been stolen, destroyed or corrupted. The department will continue its work to secure our systems.

SUNET, with which Linnaeus University worked closely during the attack, ended its crisis management on Saturday evening.

The Linnaeus University crisis management was ended on Monday afternoon.

UPDATE, Sunday 12 February: The worst attacks on Lnu.se have been stopped, but access is still unstable. If you can't reach Lnu.se, we still refer you to the temporary web.

One of the measures taken, in cooperation with Sunet, is to block access to Lnu.se from abroad. For those who are outside Sweden, we refer to the temporary web.

We have updated information for students in MyMoodle, which can also be accessed from abroad.

Work on measures is ongoing.

Emails continue to be disrupted.

Crisis management remains on standby and is monitoring developments closely.
