More scholarship opportunities at Linnaeus University through IKEA and Södra
The collaboration between IKEA, Södra, and Linnaeus University is known as The Bridge. For over a decade, this partnership has aimed to promote high-quality education and research with a connection to the business sector, focusing on forestry, innovation, and sustainability.
Starting from 2023, a scholarship programme was introduced, and as of 2024, it will be expanded to provide four international students with scholarships covering both tuition fees and living expenses. European students are also eligible to apply for the scholarship, which will then cover their living expenses.
"We see this as an important step in giving more students the opportunity to come to Sweden to pursue their master's studies in innovation or forestry", says Johan Bergh, professor at Linnaeus University.
The scholarship applies to the master's programmes in Innovation through Business, Engineering, and Design, and the new programme in Forestry for Green Sustainable Development, starting in autumn 2024. Offering scholarships for these programmes means that more students from other countries will have the opportunity to come to Sweden to study. This, in turn, provides IKEA and Södra with a larger pool of candidates for future employment.
This is as a long-term recruitment strategy. By collaborating with the students during their studies, we hope to contribute with more skilled employees to the industry.
Key dates for application
The application period for the master's programmes is open until 15 January 2024 for international students. For Swedish students, the application period for these programmes is open between 15 March and 15 April 2024.
