Erman Ertuğrul is spending a few months with the UNESCO Chair on Heritage Futures at Linnaeus University.
- My research focuses on public archaeology in Turkiye during the digital age, explains Erman. I'm particularly interested in how digital platforms can engage communities and promote heritage awareness, comparing Turkey's practices with those in Sweden.
I aim to understand how heritage futures can shape public archaeology practices and learn about global perspectives on heritage preservation, hoping to integrate these insights into my research, says Erman.
- I am pleased to welcome Erman Ertuğrul to the campus in Kalmar, says Cornelius Holtorf, Professor of Archaeology and holder of the UNESCO Chair at Linnaeus University. The UNESCO Chair on Heritage Futures provides a perfect setting for working with these issues.
- I hope to bring a comparative perspective on public archaeology from Turkey and contribute insights on how digital tools can engage diverse audiences in heritage conservation and understanding, Erman finishes.
Erman Ertuğrul will join the team until February 2025.
