European experts lecture on discrimination

How are European countries working to combat discrimination? Welcome to take part of different perspectives in the open lecture series “Social Talks - Fighting Discrimination in Europe” organized by Linnaeus University in collaboration with the other partner universities in EUniWell.

Renowned academics, researchers and teachers from our EUniWell universities will present informed analyses of social inequalities, anti-discrimination policies and their impact on individual and societal well-being.

–Everyone has the right to equal treatment and not to be discriminated against. Discrimination is one of the areas where EU law plays an important role and where we have a lot to learn from other European countries. The EUniWell Social talks are therefore a way to learn more and raise our awareness of the need to fight discrimination says Charlotte Silander, Associate Professor of Political Science and Academic Leader of EUniWell's work on social equality and well-being.

The lectures are open to all and are aimed at those who want to learn more about how different countries work against discrimination in different areas.

Four lectures are currently scheduled, but more will be added in spring 2025.

  • October 11, 10.00-11.00, Emilie Delcher, Lecturer in Public Law from the University of Nantes who will give an introductory lecture on the functioning of European discrimination law and its relevance to the work of different sectors of society.
