Linnaeus University climbs in global ranking
Linnaeus University is improving its position in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking, which is conducted by the British magazine Times Higher Education, and assesses universities based on the UN’s 17 global goals for sustainable development. Linnaeus University ranks particularly high in the categories of Life Below Water and Gender Equality.
Linnaeus University is placed in the range 301–400 out of a total of 2152 institutions worldwide in this year’s ranking.
”The ranking shows that the work we have done in recent years to achieve our vision of setting knowledge in motion for sustainable societal development is paying off”, says Lars Behrenz, deputy vice-chancellor for challenge-driven knowledge creation and analysis.
”Every day, we’re getting better at attracting collaborative partners, publishing quality research, and making our work more visible”, he continues.
Top 100 in two areas
Linnaeus University is among the top 100 institutions in two categories in this year’s ranking. Cutting-edge research and strong collaborations in marine and water-related fields place Linnaeus University at 79th in the Life Below Water category. The best result is in the Gender Equality category, where the university ranks 68th.
“We work with gender equality on a long-term basis, both when it comes to the university as a workplace and through successful research in several areas”, says Lars Behrenz.
