Erasmus+ Staff Training at Aix-Marseille University
New contacts established with researchers and PhD students at the Aix-Marseille University, as well as institutional ones for LNUC Concurrences.
At the end of January, the PhD students in Global Humanities visited Aix-Marseille University for a staff exchange with some of the PhD students belonging to the research schools ED 355 and TELEMMe.
Many aspects of France's colonial past, including the current understanding of the history of Europe's relations with other parts of the world, migration, mobility and multiculturalism, are manifest in Marseille and the region Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur today. A lot of research conducted at Aix-Marseille University, particularly at the two visited departments, is focused exactly on these topics.
The exchange also included a visit to the ongoing exhibition Another History of the World at MuCEM in Marseille and a guided tour of the traces which colonialism has left in the city.
