Brinda Kumar, doctoral student in the Global Humanities Ph.D. programme and member of LNUC Concurrences, is visiting Ashoka University during May and June. She is the first PhD student participating in the Erasmus+ ICM programme, a collaboration between Ashoka University and LNU in the humanities and social sciences (2024-2027). The exchange enables extended stays for both faculty and doctoral students from across the social sciences and humanities at both universities.
Last week, Mahesh Rangarajan, Professor of Environmental Studies and History organised a seminar where Brinda Kumar and Aritiri Chakrabarti, doctoral student in History at Ashoka University, presented papers based on their respective research projects.
Professor Rangarajan has for several years held guest lectures in the course Modern Natures and Postcolonial Ecologies in the Colonial and postcolonial studies master’s programme at LNU. During spring 2023, Aritri Chakrabarti and Abhilasha Sawlani, doctoral student in English at Ashoka University visited LNU within the Linnaeus-Palme partnership programme (Swedish Council for Higher Education). The Erasmus+ ICM programme is thereby a welcome continuation and expansion of the universities' collaboration in teaching and research education.
