New master’s programme in mechanical engineering with a focus on sustainability in an international environment

Do you want to develop the sustainable products of the future? Are you interested in learning more about designing products that meet sustainability requirements in terms of performance, lifespan, economy, production technology, and the environment? Linnaeus University is now offering a new master’s programme in mechanical engineering, opening up for more advanced and interesting responsibilities in your professional life.

The programme is aimed at students with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field and provides a comprehensive master’s specialisation in mechanical engineering.

“Pursuing a master’s degree with us involves exciting, challenging, and theoretically demanding courses in an international environment”, says Ares Argelia Gomez Gallegos, senior lecturer in mechanical engineering and the programme coordinator.

The programme includes courses in the areas of product development, production technology, and scientific computing. The programme and all its courses have been developed in collaboration with industry.

“We collaborate closely with industry. Students typically conduct their degree projects at a company in the region, which they generally learn a lot from and really appreciate”, says Ares Argelia Gomez Gallegos.  

With a degree from the master’s programme in mechanical engineering, you will be prepared for a variety of interesting and exciting roles in your professional life. For example, you could work as a product developer, computational engineer, or production engineer.
