Student helps logistics company with market strategy

Gayan Madushakna is a former student at Linnaeus University and the founder of the Swedish branch of CEF Logistics, which has its headquarters in Sri Lanka. He has now taken on an intern to assist him in developing a market strategy for the Swedish market.

- It is a great opportunity for me to have an intern. I can focus on business operations while my intern has the time to identify new technologies and market trends in Sweden,” says Gayan Madushakna.

CEF Logistics, headquartered in Sri Lanka, helps companies transport their goods worldwide, using both air and sea. Gayan recently established a branch in Småland, Sweden, where they primarily transport wood and machinery.

- In Sri Lanka, business is still conducted on paper. In Sweden, everything is more convenient when everything is connected, such as banking, taxes, and online ordering,” says Dushara Bandara, a student in English and business strategy at Linnaeus University.

She has a ten-week internship with the company, and her task is to explore how Swedish strategies can be utilized and implemented on a larger scale within the company.

- This is a valuable opportunity for me. I gain practical experience and a chance to apply my theoretical knowledge in the business world,” says Dushara Bandara.
