Students tackle real-world innovation challenges in new project course

How do large organisations like Södra and IKEA work with innovation, and what challenges do they face? Students at Linnaeus University now get the chance to explore this for real.

This autumn marked the launch of the new course Team-Based Innovation Projects, where students from different academic backgrounds collaborate on real-world assignments provided by industry partners.

“Through this course, I get the opportunity to work with companies and gain professional experience during my studies,” says Daniel Clemente, student.

For the companies involved, the course also provides value, offering fresh perspectives and the chance to engage with future talent.

The course is part of Linnaeus University’s efforts to strengthen the link between education and working life. In this first course round, Södra and IKEA are contributing real innovation projects for the students to work on. In coming years, other companies and organisations may also take part.

“The aim of this course is to combine companies’ needs for innovation and new thinking with students’ willingness to collaborate across disciplines,” says course coordinator Peter Lerman.
