Change of computer protection software on employee computers starting on Monday the 11th of May
Linnaeus University has purchased Bitdefender GravityZone as a third-party computer protection software as a supplement to the basic protection from Microsoft and Apple on the university's computers. This means that the current computer protection software Trend Micro Officescan/Apex One for Mac will not work after June 1, 2020.
The installation will be done automatically and takes about 30 minutes to complete, requires no restart of the computer or user action. During the installation process there may be messages that the protection is turned off or missing, you can ignore these.
If you are on a Windows computer you may get the message "Web Access Control module has been disabled" after the installation completes. This is a conscious choice from IT and will not affect your access to the Internet.
