Around the end of May/beginning of June each year, we have a joint closing ceremony to celebrate those who have completed, or are about to complete, their studies at the 60- or 120-credit master’s level. The ceremony in Kalmar will be held on Tuesday, June 2, while for those who have studied in Växjö, the ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 4.
A news article from the 2025 ceremonies with pictures and recordings from all three ceremonies is now available to watch. Read the news from the ceremonies here.
The closing ceremony is a festive afternoon, mixing speeches with entertainment, and with the new graduates being invited onto the stage to be congratulated by the faculty. The ceremonies are held in English.
Curious about how closing ceremonies work at a Swedish university?
When you have studied at Linnaeus University, you are one of our alumni and welcome to sign up to join The Alumni Network. Our alumni activities help you stay in touch with old fellow course mates and provide you with information on how you can continue to develop together with Linnaeus University.
You are important to us also after you have completed your studies. As a matter of fact, we encourage you to stay in touch with us once you have become an alumnus/alumna through The Alumni Network; a network that is a social as well as a professional asset.
The Closing Ceremony is a sustainability-assured meeting in accordance with Linnaeus University’s guidelines for sustainable events. These guidelines are linked to the 17 global goals in Agenda 2030 and comprise the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, the social, and the environmental.
