Musikhjälpen in Växjö 2023

For the first time ever, Musikhjälpen is coming to Småland. Between 11 and 17 December, Stortorget in Växjö will be buzzing with activity. Linnaeus University is, of course, taking part!

Musikhjälpen is an event that spreads awareness about and raises funds for a hidden humanitarian catastrophe. Each year, the fundraising has a special theme. The theme for 2023 is "No one should have to die of hunger".

For one week in December every year, three well-known hosts are locked inside a glass booth at a town square in a Swedish city, to broadcast radio and TV around the clock for 144 hours. This year, the glass booth is located at Stortorget in Växjö. During their week in the glass booth, the hosts will be visited by some of Sweden's biggest and best artists and people from all over the country who are engaged in the cause. The fundraising is based, in part, on the audience's song requests, which also make up all the music played on the programme. The program airs live around the clock on radio on P3 and on television on SVT/SVT Play.

Linnaeus University will take part in various ways. More information will be available on this page during the autumn.
