Electrical Engineering, specialisation Signal Processing & Wave Propagation, Master Programme
120 creditsThis programme contains both theory and applications and prepares you for advanced engineering work in industry or for graduate studies.
Wave propagation and signal processing are important fields in the technical society of today. There are many technical and industrial applications that require knowledge of both these subjects, notably wireless communication and antenna and microwave technology.
During the first year you will study the mathematical and statistical methods that are the foundations of advanced level telecommunications theory. You will also meet applications in the form of radio systems and microwave and antenna technology.
In the second year you can specialize theoretically or study adjacent subjects such as physics or computer science. Some courses are given every other year and can thus be studied during year 1 or 2. The thesis work is a process where you transform your knowledge into scientific writing. In this you will benefit from the elements of research methodology that are contained in the programme.
The programme features courses of 7.5 HEC each, which consist of lectures, seminars, practicals and mandatory assignments.

The diversity at campus is amazing
Wherever you walk on campus you'll meet a lot of different people from all over the globe. Watch the exchange student Sangeetha Munian describe the programme and the life on campus in the clip above.
Career
Advanced engineering work in industry awaits most graduates. Two plausible fields are telecommunications, that holds both the themes of the programme, and sensor technology, that combines data collection and signal processing. If you prefer graduate studies, the theoretical courses are a good preparation.
Degree
Master's degree (two years) in electrical engineering with specialization in signal processing and wave propagation.

Växjö – the student city with a living campus
Just south of Växjö’s city centre you will find Linnaeus University’s campus. In Växjö, many students choose to live on campus.
Here you will have five minutes’ walking distance to friends, restaurants, lecture rooms, gym, grocery store, the University Library, nature trails, and student pubs. If you live in another part of Växjö, you can quickly get to the university by bus or bicycle.
With its 90 000 inhabitants, Växjö is one of the fastest growing cities in Sweden. Here you will find the famous Småland entrepreneurship spirit and a lot of companies, for instance within the IT industry – perfect for when you are looking for an internship position or a job. Växjö is also one of Europe’s greenest cities where you have easy access to nature, forest and lakes.
