Introduction to continuum physics with numerical applications using FEM

The course includes the following topics: kinematics,single constituent continuum mechanics and balance principles,thermodynamics and constitutive theory, different strain and stress measures, principle of virtual work and weak formulations, large deformation mechanics, FEM formulations, numerical time stepping schemes and Newton-Raphson schemes for matrix equations.
