High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC)

The High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) offers computational and storage resources to help researchers to solve big computing and big data problems. Besides serving as a service center, HPCC is a meeting point for computer scientists and scientists of various domains.

Our research

Research and solutions of real-world scientific and technical problems require computational and storage resources that go beyond of those available on a personal computer. To solve complex problems within a reasonable time, high-performance computers that have many processors and a high memory capacity are needed. In the context of Linnaeus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA), the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) will serve as a service center and meeting point for computer scientists and scientists of various domains (such as physics, the humanities etc) and will create new opportunities for multidisciplinary research projects.

Researchers within DISA and their industrial partners will get access to the advanced computing and storage infrastructure of the HPC center in a simple and straightforward way. In cooperation with the knowledgeable scientific and technical personnel of HPCC, researchers will be able to solve big computing and big data problems that they would otherwise not be able to address by themselves.

The HPCC research group is part of the Linnæus University Centre of Excellence (LNUC) for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications.
