Literacy and Teaching

The research group consists of linguists, literary scholars, and educators who conduct research on children’s oral and written language competences, texts, literature, and reading. A central focus is how language-developing teaching can be designed to promote learning during the preschool years and the early years of schooling.

The research group is part of the Linnaeus Knowledge Environment Education in Change. It collaborates across faculty boundaries and is supported by the Board of Teacher Education

Within this environment, practice-oriented research is carried out, based on various questions related to literacy and teaching. The research group also organizes recurring research days, engages in research-based teacher education, offers professional development for teachers, and participates in a range of school development projects.

More details about the group, including seminars, is stated on the Swedish version of the page.
