The center is located at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in Kalmar but also includes members from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Technology. The center's area of interest is research in and the development of teaching in the natural sciences and technology. The goal is to provide students at all levels with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and the ability to reflect, to support their participation in contexts where science and technology play a role in society.

Our Research

Our research includes practice-oriented projects in science and technology education. It addresses, among other things, the role of representations, models, and digital tools in learning; how emotions influence students’ engagement and learning; issues related to sustainable development; and continuity in teaching across different levels of education. The research environment is affiliated with the National Graduate School in Science and Technology Education, FontD, an established collaboration between eight Swedish higher education institutions.
