Science and Technology Education Research

The center is located at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in Kalmar but also includes members from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Technology. The center's area of interest is research in and the development of teaching in the natural sciences and technology. The goal is to provide students at all levels with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and the ability to reflect, to support their participation in contexts where science and technology play a role in society.

Our Research

Ongoing research projects include the role of models, representations, and digital tools in learning; academic emotions in the classroom; teaching and learning in sustainability; and teaching continuity between different educational levels. The research environment is linked to FontD, a national research school for science and technology education, and has an established collaboration with schools in the region.
