More about the project
The study aims to explore the effects of physical training on employees' health and well-being, identify effective organisational programmes to promote exercise and examine barriers to physical activity in the workplace.
The research employs grounded theory methodology and focuses on an IT company with about 30 employees collaborating with a health organisation that uses a fitness app. Data collection includes interviews, a quality café, and a follow-up interview series. Findings are analysed to evaluate employees' experiences with workplace health initiatives.
Key objectives include understanding how exercise impacts workplace health, designing effective exercise programmes, and addressing barriers to employee participation. The study also explores the role of digital tools like fitness apps in promoting health.
The research underscores the societal importance of maintaining workplace health, especially in light of demographic shifts toward older populations. It aims to contribute to sustainable health practices, enhance well-being, and support healthy ageing in the workforce.
The project is part of the research in the Linnaeus Knowledge Environment: Sustainable Health.
