More about the project
Swedish policy aims to reduce final energy use in buildings by 50% by 2050, and that new buildings are constructed with very low energy use. However, increased energy efficiency of buildings has implications for how we design energy supply systems.
The aim of this five-year (2014-18) project is to create new knowledge on how to develop resource and cost-efficient built environment in the Kilen area of Ronneby, incorporating life cycle and system perspectives and cradle to cradle elements in the context of eco-efficiency. The Sustainable Built Environment Research group (SBER) at Linnaeus University analyses life-cycle primary energy use and greenhouse gas balance of buildings planned for the Kilen area of Ronneby. The project is run in close cooperation with Cefur (Centre for Research and Development in Ronneby) and Ronneby municipality.
