More about the project
Abused women render a great risk leaving a violent relationship. Taking such a step requires support from social networks as well as authorities. A second precondition for those contemplating to leave is that there are alternative ways to go. One discouraging factor is the difficulty in finding a new place to live.
Despite extensive research on men’s violence against women, we know little about what happens after women have left an abusive partner but still live in transit/homelessness. The aim of the project is to address this topic and enhance our knowledge about battered women's experiences of living in transit, i.e. in uncertain circumstances. Theoretically, the study takes it departure in time geography and its axioms.
