The project aims to apply a Knowledge Triangle Approach to integrate Education, Research and Community (ERC) to provide timely e-Health system focusing on the advances in technology that offer patients, practitioners, medical centers, and hospitals new and innovative options for high quality and cost effective e-medical and healthcare services.

More about the project

The goals of the project are:

  1. To create a single integrated comprehensive system of innovative e-Health approach based on University- Enterprise Cooperation (UEC) that allows to implement a modern Healthcare and medical system to ensure the opportunity of utilization of synergetic effects for healthcare availability and equity for all population to reduce medical and healthcare errors and increase patient safety. Synergetic effect to be achieved by integrating the skills of academic and non-academic healthcare and medical staff, IT and engineering staff.
  2. To develop effective e-service for interactive collaboration between university-healthcare sector, healthcare and medical enterprises and society in development &promotion/commercialization of e-Health activities.
  3. To produce a new generation of physicians, nurses and other healthcare staff, IT and engineering staff as well as research staff capable to perform constructive development in innovative e-Health system with main goal to satisfy the needs of Lebanese and Egyptian Healthcare sittings (hospitals, medical centers, private clinics, etc.), healthcare and medical enterprises and institutions.

Project specific objectives are:

  1. To establish  International University-Enterprises Centers of e-Health innovations (CeHI) in Lebanon (3) and in Egypt (4) for technical, consultancy, administrative,  and training support; 
  2. To develop the web platform KTERE for collaboration in development and promotion/ commercialization of Innovate e-Health & integration of this platform with the already existed networks at partner universities and healthcare sittings/ institutions;
  3. To develop or modernize a new integrated e-Health courses (6 basic modules) for  partner universities in LEG;
  4. To develop on site and distance inservice training program (4 modules) in the area of innovative e-Health for the further utilization of OER (open educational resources) and rich open learning environments.
