The consortium that will carry out the project is coordinated by Energy Cities, a European network of local authorities in energy transition. The network is composed of a renowned financial expert on public and public-private energy efficiency services operators and third party financing, and a mix of local and regional authorities, energy agencies and private sector partners.
Together, they aim at overcoming market barriers to deep energy-efficient retrofits of private housing stock and launching ambitious energy retrofit pilot programmes aiming at a minimum of 50 per cent energy savings in eleven target territories. This will be done by developing and rolling out integrated energy efficiency (EE) service packages targeting homeowners.
Linnaeus University's part of the project is Work package 3 (WP3), which is entitled Transfer the knowledge through large-scale capacity building and aims to build capacities of stakeholders from the public, private and financial sector to replicate integrated EE services and facilitate access of homeowners to long-term financing throughout the EU. WP3 consists of two parts: to create a series of at least eleven capacity building workshops and eleven webinars that will be organised at national level in all project target countries in local language, and to create two capacity building workshops and two webinars organised at European level in English to cover additional EU countries.
The project is part of the research conducted by the Sustainable Built Environment Research (SBER) research group.
