More about the project
This project investigates internationalization and interculturality in teacher education and at school by examining how different actors in education perceive internationalisation and intercultural competences in their respective fields. Repeated studies show that teachers’ attitudes and knowledge base are crucial in fostering intercultural understanding in schools. Schools play an important role in shaping democratic societies, and teachers are central in promoting intercultural understanding as well as in fostering diversity and inclusion. By investigating different actors’ perspectives in ten European countries, we aim to enhance the understanding of cultural similarities and differences in preparing future democratic citizens at school as well as in teacher education.
The project is part of the research in the Erasmus + Teacher Academy-project TEFF: Teacher Education for a Future in Flux, the research groups Research on pedagogical professions and practices (PEPP), Forskargruppen för värdepedagogisk forskning (in Swedish) and the Linnaeus Knowledge Environment: Education in Change
