More about the project
The project aims to study female guardians of people involved in criminal networks. These women's voices, stories and health have been ignored in research, despite the fact that female family members are the most present, involved and engaged in the everyday life and upbringing of their young relatives. In this project, we are interested in studying these women’s health and experiences of being guardians of people who are involved in criminal networks.
We also want to examine the women's experiences and experiences in their contacts and dealings with public representatives of social services, the police, schools and health care agencies. The experiences of these employees’ contacts with these women will also be studied.
These different perspectives on the interaction between women and social support authorities are important to examine. The project fulfills a general societal interest by creating knowledge about a significant part of the family life of people involved in criminal networks. The research questions will be answered through structured and semi structured interviews.
Very few studies have examined this research area, while the issue of network crime and its consequences is growing rapidly in Swedish society. Therefore, research based on different perspectives is needed to study these related issues more closely.
The project is part of the research in the Centre for Police Research and Development research group.
