More about the project
Preliminary findings have indicated a great potential for using tall oil and its refined derivatives instead of wax, for enhancing the water resistance and inter-fibre strength of cellulosic fibres. It is thus hypothesised that the effects can be transferred to commercial fibre-based products such as fibreboards. Following a two-step approach, a preliminary high-risky research is needed to reveal further possibilities to implement and validate promising results in the industrial production of high density fibreboards.
